Urinary and genital conditions We Treat

Our team evaluates and treats a wide spectrum of paediatric urinary tract and genital disorders.

Hypospadias – A condition in which the child’s urethral opening develops away from the tip of the penis, sometimes causing a downward curvature of the penis (chordee).
Epispadias – A rare condition where the urethral opening forms in an abnormal position in boys or girls, affecting normal urinary function.
Undescended Testes (Cryptorchidism) – This occurs when one or both testicles fail to descend into the scrotum before birth.
Phimosis – A condition in which the foreskin cannot be retracted over the glans penis.
Balanoposthitis – Swelling and infection of the glans and/or foreskin.

Hydronephrosis – Swelling of the kidney that occurs when urine cannot drain properly, which if left untreated may affect kidney function, and is most commonly detected during prenatal scans (antenatal hydronephrosis) or early childhood ultrasounds.
Hydro-ureter – Abnormal widening of the ureter due to blockage or backward flow of urine.

Bladder Anomalies – Congenital structural or functional abnormalities of the bladder that may affect urine storage or emptying.
Neurogenic Bladder – Disruption of the nerve signals controlling the bladder leads to difficulty storing or passing urine, commonly seen in children with spina bifida or spinal cord disorders.
Daytime Urinary Incontinence – Unintentional urine leakage at an inappropriate time and place while the child is awake, often related to bladder control or functional voiding issues.
Bedwetting (Nocturnal Enuresis) – Involuntary urination during sleep in children who are expected to have nighttime bladder control. Assessment helps identify contributing factors and guide effective treatment to support bladder maturity.

Reconstructive & Corrective Surgery

Pyeloplasty for Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction – Surgery to remove a blockage and restore the connection between the kidney and ureter, allowing urine to drain normally.
Extra-Vesical Ureteric Reimplantation / Deflux Injection (Minimally Invasive) – Repositions the ureter where it connects to the bladder to prevent urine from flowing back towards the kidney.
Hypospadias / Epispadias Repair – Reconstructs the urethra to correct the position of the urethral opening, allowing your child to pass urine normally, improving urinary function and ensuring reproductive health.
Congenital Inguinal Hernia Repair – A common, minor procedure to close a small opening in the groin area present from birth, preventing internal tissue from bulging out.

Endoscopic and Minimally Invasive Procedures

Cystoscopy – A small camera is inserted through the urethra to look inside the bladder and check for problems.
Ureteroscopy – A thin scope is used to examine and treat conditions inside the ureter.

Genital and Developmental Surgery

Orchidopexy for Undescended Testis – Moves an undescended testicle into the scrotum to support normal development.
